Hospice House

The Newton & Wilma Thomas Hospice House is an historic, turn-of-the-century Victorian house in Charlottesville, providing hospice care to patients and families in Albemarle, Augusta, Buckingham, Culpeper, Fauquier, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Madison, Nelson, Orange, and Rappahannock counties since 1980.

Alexander Nicholson completed a renovation in 2004-2005, and returned in 2016 to update the heating/air-conditioning system and perform interior renovations to make the rooms lighter, brighter, more modern and comfortable for patients. This beautifully restored, warm and welcoming home now has eight light-filled private rooms, each with its own bathroom and plenty of space for family members to gather and visit with their loved ones.
